QB Brock Purdy Thread

I looked at the final stats after the game and they were extremely close. The yards. passing. rushing, first downs. Everything was nearly the same. The major difference was Brock had 2 TD passes and one INT. Darnold had 1 TD pass and 2 INTs. The other dfference has turnovers. Niners created more and were able to score more points off them. The Seahawks were forced to kick FGs.

Those 2 areas were things that were often why the Niners would lose games in Seattle. When they took the lead in the 3rd quarter after a turnover I thought here we go again. But the Niners responded and came back to retake the lead. This was clearly a great team effort against a good Seahawks team that doesn't lose often at home.

To be leading the league despite 3 of our games being against really tough pass defenses is impressive.
Brock got it done in the end. It looked like he was hesitating taking off to run though at times. In the next Seattle game if there's open areas where he can run for yards I hope he doesn't hesitate

I would also just love to see us run it down their throats.
Seattle defense is fast. Brock tried to run a few times with open space. Defender caught him to a minimal gain. They did the same thing to the RBs too.

During the game day thread, I mentioned how I was frustrated how he always looks off against them. Then he had that bad interception. I said how he responds to that will tell me a lot, well, he responded! I just really want to see him demon locked in next time against these brutal defenses and bring it all 4 quarters like he did at the end.
I'm not sure how a guy can always "look off" against a team he's 6-3 against, 5-2 in the regular season and 1-1 in the playoffs. In fact, I believe he was undefeated against them at Lumen Field until last year. And that pick probably wasn't his fault. Even in real time it didn't look like Cowing knew where he was supposed to be. Honestly, you're coming across as someone who is just complaining to hear themselves complain. They won against a really tough Seattle team, they're unbeaten and are 3-0 in the division. Not a bad start. Not sure when they play again, but if Bosa and Stribling are both back, Williams is back in the groove, and their rookies continue to improve, I wouldn't be surprised if we kick their asses the next time we play them. Go Niners!

Possibly the toughest defense he'll face this season tbh, and Brock came through strong when it mattered most.

Even more impressive considering how many of our receivers are dealing with injuries.

That's what MVP QBs do. They win against very good defenses. Not only did he get it done, he did it with a WR group so depleted they had TEs lining up as WRs.

In the past, we have heard stories about how a truly good QB could put his team on his back and go win a game they would lose otherwise. We hoped for that with Alex Smith, Colin Kaepernick, and Jimmy Garoppolo, but it never happened, even when they had a full deck to play with. Yesterday, we saw what it looked like to "put the team on your back", and go win a game.

It wasn't perfect, but against a great defense, and Seattle's defense is great, it was what truly elite QBs do - they win even when the odds are stacked against them.

He still leads the league in every category because that is who he is.

Well, Brock Purdy owns Seattle and their defense. The only two losses came when the team was down to second and third stringers last year. Sorry facts

That defense is so fast and they are great tacklers. It can be hard to get good yards scrambling.

...as good as Brady and Evans?! That is very good stuff.

Brock should be able to feast against the Commanders Defense. A good game to pad those fantasy stats.
I don't care if the QB is Mahomes, Brady, Allen, Lamar, Burrow etc. It's unrealistic for anyone to go into the toughest stadium in the league, against a Super Bowl champion, and be flawless.
